On April 14, 1936 (the 25th year of the Republic of China), Liu Zhidan, Commander of the 28th Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army and founder of the Shaan-Gan Revolutionary Base, was unfortunately fatally struck by a stray bullet while personally directing frontline operations during the recapture battle of Sanjiao. In 1988, the People's Government of Shanxi Province specially commissioned a columnar cement monument inscribed with "Site of Martyr Liu Zhidan’s Death", which was transported to the county and erected under the supervision of relevant departments as a memorial. The monument was also approved as a provincial-level revolutionary cultural relic. The cement monument stands atop Aozegedi?? Mountain, sheltered beneath a pavilion-style structure, with a cement and stone base at its foundation, surrounded by railings, and topped by an octagonal pavilion supported by four central pillars. From afar, it appears serene; up close, it commands solemn reverence.
