With the arrival of spring, the two painted cows in front of Yunlin County Cultural Center have also “gotten a spring makeover”! The Yunlin County Cultural Affairs Bureau invited teacher Liao Shunfu from Yu Zhengxin High School and renowned painter Huang Qinghui to paint the two cows. Their vibrant colors and flowing lines bring a lively spring vibe to the cultural center.

The Yunlin County Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that the two sculpted cows were created by Liao Shunfu in 1983 (the 72nd year of the Republic of China), one being a yellow ox and the other a water buffalo. In addition to representing Yunlin as a major agricultural county, they also symbolize the hardworking and persevering spirit of the Taiwanese people.

Liao Shunfu said that the sculpted cows had long been displayed in their original colors. To give the public a fresh visual experience, he used an abstract painting style to dress the cows in colorful coats, endowing them with a vibrant and lively image through a variety of hues, making them a new eye-catching feature at the entrance of Yunlin County Cultural Center.
