The original construction date is unknown. It was rebuilt during the Zhizheng era of the Yuan Dynasty (1341–1368), and underwent subsequent renovations during the Chenghua and Zhengde eras of the Ming Dynasty, as well as the Jiaqing and Guangxu eras of the Qing Dynasty.

The temple faces south and is built along a central axis, featuring the main hall, theater stage, and mountain gate, with side halls, auxiliary halls, drum towers, and twin pagodas on the left and right. The site covers an area of 1,612 square meters.

The twin pagodas stand on the east and west sides of the mountain gate, commonly known as the “Male and Female Pagodas.” They are 17 meters apart, constructed from finely cut and polished blue bricks, and are octagonal in shape, with a total height of approximately 19 meters. Every other side from the second to the fifth floor features arched windows. The interior of the eastern pagoda is hollow and can be climbed.
