Nalou Tusi Mansion

The Nalou Tusi Mansion was the official residence of the Nalou Chadian Sub-Prefecture (a Yi ethnic tusi) that ruled the regions on both sides of the Red River continuously during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is located in Huixin Village, Potou Township, Jianshui County, on the mountainside along the northern bank of the Red River. The tusi mansion features a unique design, perched dramatically on the perilous mountainside, and boasts great grandeur. The compound contains over 70 rooms of various sizes, as well as a screen wall, main hall, and defensive structures such as a watchtower. Notably, bullet marks can still be seen on the watchtower today.

The Nalou Tusi Mansion is located in Huixin Village, about 50 kilometers south of Jianshui County. For getting to Jianshui County, self-driving or hiring a private car is recommended.
