Jianshui Tuzhu Temple is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Jianshui Tuzhu Temple is one of the more distinctive early structures within Jianshui’s “Museum of Ancient Architecture.” Originally built in the seventh year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty (1442 AD), the temple features two complete courtyards, with 39 existing structures including the mountain gate, main hall, rear hall, four side wings, and six wing rooms, covering an area of 3,200 square meters. The architectural style of Tuzhu Temple retains the characteristics of Ming Dynasty construction methods, showcasing the simple and elegant decorative style of the period. It is a vivid display of the authentic Ming Dynasty painted art preserved in Jianshui’s ancient architecture, as well as a valuable resource for studying the painted art of Jianshui’s historic buildings. On December 18, 2003, Jianshui Tuzhu Temple was designated as a Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Unit in the sixth round of such listings.

On October 7, 2019, Jianshui Tuzhu Temple was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
