Shuimotou
The Shuimotou Fishing Village Tourist Area in Xiyang, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, is located in Shuimotou Village, nestled among the Taihang Mountains and by the Songxi River. Surrounded by mountains and water, the area boasts beautiful peaks, unique caves, flying cranes and herons, and gushing mountain springs. The villagers have dug ponds for fish farming and fields for rice cultivation, earning it early recognition as a "Shangri-La" and the "Fishing Village of the Taihang Mountains."
It is about 40-plus kilometers in the direction of Xiyang and can also include a visit to Dazhai in Xiyang County. Currently, Shuimotou is under renovation and does not charge an entrance fee. The scenic area features farmed rainbow trout and sturgeon, which are very delicious and can be sampled.
