Haba Snow Mountain

Introduction Located in the southeastern part of Shangri-La County and facing Yulong Snow Mountain across the Tiger Leaping Gorge, Haba Snow Mountain has a main peak elevation of 5,396 meters. The mountain still retains many ancient glacial relics—such as horn peaks, arêtes, U-shaped valleys, and roche moutonnées. There are also numerous moraine lakes, whose water colors vary depending on the color of the lakebed stones. The water is extremely cold, with no algae or fish surviving. The mountain is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, and it's common to spot rare animals such as Yunnan snub-nosed monkeys, wild asses, and macaques. It is known as a "natural zoo." Special reminder: Walk eastward from the village along the road (i.e., in the direction of Baishuitai) for about 45 minutes to reach the viewing platform, which offers a panoramic view of Haba Snow Mountain. In May and June, the area is covered with azaleas, creating a beautiful scene. Transportation

It is 120 kilometers from the county town. There is now a road leading to the Haba Snow Mountain scenic area. Departing from Shangri-La County, it takes one day to get there.
