Popular Wedding Photography Spots: Nine Beautiful and Unique Churches in Taiwan

Taiwan’s first government-designed white crystal church with a “wedding photography” theme is expected to be completed by mid-October. It looks as if you’re in a foreign country. In addition to this crystal church, Taiwan also has many beautiful and distinctive churches. The Eastern Travel Cloud has compiled a list of ten churches that have appeared on its website. Those who aren’t married yet might consider taking their wedding photos at these churches.

Beimen White Crystal Church

This is Taiwan’s first government-designed white crystal church with a “wedding photography” theme. The project is currently in its final stages, and it is expected to officially open in October, hosting weddings for 20 couples. The structure of the white crystal church is modeled after the St. Laguna Chapel at the Guam Sea Chapel. Yujing White Church

The white church located in Yujing District, Tainan, was built by the owner of the Hidden Fields Mountain Villa homestay and is named “Yingsheng Hall” in memory of her parents, using the last names of both parents as a tribute. With its pure white and romantic atmosphere, it attracts large crowds every holiday. At one point, due to excessive traffic, it affected local mango farmers’ harvests, so the white church was temporarily closed until the mango season ended. Shangri-La Hotel Eternal Water Church

Located at the Shangri-La Dongshan River Resort Hotel in Yilan. The entire church features a white color scheme, with a 30-meter-long crystal bridge leading the way, guiding couples into the pure white church. Taitung Cardboard Church

The “Cardboard Church” is actually the Yiwan Presbyterian Church, the most famous church in Chenggong Town. Its vibrant and colorful appearance resembles a cartoon church on a postcard, often attracting visitors. Tunghai University Luce Memorial Chapel

When it comes to Tunghai University in Taichung, besides its vast campus, the most well-known attraction is the Luce Memorial Chapel, which is also a must-visit pilgrimage site for tourists. Its architect, I.M. Pei, was also the designer behind the renovation of the Louvre. The chapel’s exterior consists of four walls, while the interior ceiling features a lattice design. Taichung Fullness Church

The Fullness Church, which gained fame through the idol drama "Miss No Good," is located on Jinxing Mountain in Wufeng, Taichung. The exterior of the church can be viewed on regular days, but the interior is only open to the public on holidays. Aletheia University Church

Although not listed as a historic site, Aletheia University’s Main Chapel boasts a strong European style. With an incredibly blue sky, a dreamy church building, and one of the most eye-catching structures, it’s also a popular spot for wedding photography. Inside the chapel is Taiwan’s second-largest pipe organ—only second to the National Concert Hall—one that was custom-made in the Netherlands to match the exterior design of the chapel. Unfortunately, it’s not visible to the public. Tamsui Church

Tamsui Church was reconstructed from the physician’s dormitory of the Koa Hospital. It features a Gothic-style spire, buttresses, and column capitals adorned with small spike decorations. The exterior walls are built with plain red bricks, while the interior uses reinforced concrete columns and floors. The roof is supported by large-span steel frames, topped with wooden ceiling panels. Kaohsiung Rosary Cathedral

Kaohsiung is home to the historic "Rosary Cathedral," also known as Rosary Church. In addition to its long history, it boasts Gothic and Roman-style spires that are rare sights in Taiwan. This Catholic church is located in Kaohsiung’s Qianjin District, near the intersection of Wufu 3rd Road and Shizhong 1st Road, with the Love River not far away.
