Taiwan’s highest buffet restaurant, 50th-floor Café, offers breathtaking views

The 50th-floor Café buffet restaurant is the tallest buffet in the country, located on the 50th floor of the iconic 50-story Breeze Center (next to Banqiao Big City), the fifth tallest building in Taiwan. Operated by Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Taipei, it is also the only international five-star buffet restaurant in New Taipei City. With stunning panoramic views and an extraordinary culinary experience, it officially opened on August 25, and is offering special promotional prices until the end of October to attract visitors.

The buffet offerings at 50th-floor Café are incredibly diverse, featuring ten highlights, including hot stone plate cuisine and liquid nitrogen ice cream—first seen in a five-star buffet—as well as executive chef’s exclusive Western dishes, freshly flown-in sashimi, chilled seafood, grilled specialties, Asian hot dishes, sushi and hand rolls, fresh salads and vegetables, and appetizing delicacies, with over a hundred options served per meal.

The executive chef is Jason Lin, a Chinese-American chef who graduated with honors from a prestigious culinary institute in the U.S. East Coast. He has worked as a chef at many renowned restaurants and hotels across the U.S. East and West Coasts as well as in Taiwan, bringing nearly 20 years of international culinary expertise. During his time in the U.S., he personally served U.S. President Barack Obama and the First Lady, as well as other celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Secretary of State Rice, and other entertainment stars and political figures—all of whom were his esteemed guests. The chef uses Taiwan’s abundant local seafood and seasonal farm produce, combined with essential imported ingredients, to offer diners an exclusive gastronomic experience, which is also a major highlight of 50th-floor Café.

Special opening promotional prices are available until the end of October: Weekday lunches (Monday to Friday) for NT$680 (original price NT$780), weekend lunches for NT$780 (original price NT$880); weekday dinners (Monday to Friday) for NT$780 (original price NT$880), weekend dinners for NT$880 (original price NT$980). Children under 100cm tall eat free, while those between 101–130cm enjoy half-price meals. Lunch hours are 11:00–13:00 and 13:00–15:00, dinner hours are 17:00–19:00 and 19:00–21:00.
