In Tibetan, "Shu" means cheese, and "du" means stone. Legend has it that in ancient times, a high monk traveled here, and the local herders offered him cheese. He noticed that the cheese from the Shudugang Lake pasture was so firm it was like stone, which delighted him. He then prayed, "May the cheese here always be as firm as stone." Hence the name Shudugang. Introduction:

Located 35 kilometers northeast of Shangri-La and over ten kilometers from Bita Lake. The lake water is crystal clear with small fish swimming at the bottom. Most uniquely, it is home to a rare fish species called "schizothoracin," which has a fine crack along its belly. The fish meat is tender and delicious. The lake is surrounded by dense woods, and there is also a pasture nearby dotted with herds of cattle and sheep, full of the charm of Tibetan life. Transportation:

There are rural roads connecting it to Shangri-La county town, allowing for a day trip, but there is no bus service. Travelers can only hire a taxi or take a minibus to get there.
