Introduction

The Diqing Red Army Long March Museum is located on the north side of the Sun-Moon Square in the Dukezong Ancient Town, Shangri-La County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is a thematic museum established to commemorate the Red Army’s entry into Diqing after their daring crossing of the Jinsha River during the 1936 Long March. The museum covers a construction area of 2,400 square meters and is divided into sections including the Preface Hall, "Memories of Snow Mountains and Grasslands," an interactive landscape of "Crossing the Snow Mountains and Grasslands," "The Red Flag Raising the Serfs' Weapons," "Today's Long March Road," and "The New Look of the Diqing Plateau." The exhibits display boats, weapons, slogans, documents, books, as well as daily items such as lanterns, medicine boxes, grain bags, and water bottles used by the Red Army when they entered Diqing. A large number of photos also illustrate lesser-known stories from the Long March.
