Liuku is divided into Old Liuku and New Liuku. Old Liuku was once the site of the local chieftain’s government office. It is located about two kilometers from the Nujiang River, with less than one square kilometer of flat land. The area is lush with vegetation, shaded by green bamboo, and dotted with villages, offering a unique mountain village scenery.

Liuku is actually the county seat of Lushui County and the main gateway to Gongshan and Fugong counties. Most travelers only stay here for one night. There aren’t many tourist attractions, but you can enjoy dinner at a restaurant on the nearby mountain for a truly great experience.

Liuku Town: Located in the prefectural capital of Nujiang Prefecture, Liuku Town spans both sides of the Nujiang River, from the eastern foothills of the Gaoligong Mountains to the western foothills of the Luo snow Mountains. It borders Laowo Township to the east, Myanmar to the west, Luzhang Town to the north, and Shangjiang Township to the south. The town covers a total area of 375.94 square kilometers, featuring high mountains, deep valleys, and crisscrossing ravines. The highest elevation reaches 3,100 meters, while the lowest is 800 meters. With an average annual rainfall of 1,010 millimeters and an average annual temperature of 19°C, it has a typical subtropical mountainous vertical climate.
