Tengchong Pearl Spring

Pearl Spring is located in Tengchong City, Baoshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It consists of a pair of spring pits formed by condensed water from numerous steam vents. The two pits lie on the same level, with the eastern pit having a water temperature of 95.5°C and the western pit at 88°C, flowing at a rate of 0.2L/S. Both springs feature steam vents and exhibit phenomena such as siliceous sinter, moss agate, and uranium mineralization. The area has a relatively widespread distribution of springs, and at the westernmost end, there are two small boiling springs at 92°C, also flowing at 0.2L/S. The spring earned its name because the condensed bubbles rising from the water form bead-like strings that slowly ascend through the water and gently roll on the surface like pearls.

Transportation

1. There is a direct shuttle bus from South Huancheng Road in Tengchong County; fare is 6 RMB per person.

2. Next to Yihuayuan Hotel at the intersection of Rehai Road and Jinye Road, you can also find minibuses heading there; fare is 5 RMB, departing once full.

3. Take Bus No. 2 in Tengchong County; the terminal stop is Rehai Scenic Area, fare is 1 RMB.

Taking a taxi from Tengchong to Rehai Scenic Area costs around 30 RMB one way, or about 60 RMB for a round trip.
