Houqiao Langya Mountain

Houqiao Langya Mountain is located on the northwestern frontier of Tengchong County. Its towering stone peaks are spectacular and resemble a massive natural barrier. Since ancient times, it has been a strategically important military stronghold. Known as Langya Mountain, it earned its name due to its sword-like peaks piercing the sky and jagged rocks that resemble wolf’s teeth.

Langya Mountain is divided into an upper and a lower peak. The upper peak, known as Greater Langya, stands at an elevation of 3,741.4 meters, while the lower peak, Lesser Langya, reaches 2,202.3 meters. The stone peaks of Greater Langya are layered and majestic, appearing and disappearing amid the misty clouds. At times they resemble a gathering of tigers and leopards, at others a group of eagles fighting over prey — their eerie shapes and rugged rocks create a surreal landscape.
