Tongren Yelang Valley Scenic Area

Yelang Valley is located in the Wanshan Special District, the easternmost part of Guizhou Province. It lies at the junction where the eastern extension of the Miao Mountains on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau meets the western edge of the Xuefeng Mountains and the southern part of the Wuling Mountains. The area enjoys a mild climate and stunning scenery. Its karst landscape features bizarre rock formations, with picturesque views every few steps and hidden dangers lurking around every corner — a truly spectacular sight.

Yelang Valley is located in Puxian Village, Gaolouping Township, Wanshan Special District, about 8 kilometers from the district government seat. The endpoint of the Yelang Valley rafting route is just 5 kilometers from the county seat of Xinhuang, Hunan. The valley stretches 14 kilometers in length, with the mountain base directly cut to a depth of 200–300 meters. The riverbed averages 20 meters in width, with an average water depth of 1 meter and crystal-clear waters. In 2003, it was designated as a provincial-level scenic spot by the People's Government of Guizhou Province.
