Nantou: In Ren’ai Township’s Kanjouwan Mountain, it was reported the previous evening that a hiker surnamed Tsai had fallen and was suspected to have suffered a fracture, leaving him unable to descend. On the morning of the 22nd, Nantou County Fire Bureau requested helicopter rescue, but due to low cloud cover and poor visibility, the helicopter was unable to assist. Personnel from the Ren’ai Fire Station and the Forestry Bureau then entered the mountain to conduct the search and rescue operation. It is estimated that it will take one to two days to reach the injured hiker.
