Caoshan Moon World features a bluish-gray rocky terrain formed from sandstone and shale, connected with the mudstone badlands of Neimen, Tianliao, and Yanchao Districts in Kaohsiung City, collectively known as the chalk landform. Due to its soft geological composition and erosion by rivers such as the Caoshan Stream and Ganglin Stream, the landscape is marked by jagged, continuous rock formations, steep cliffs, and sawtooth-like barren ridges.
