Artistic Stone Forest Hunting Ground Scenic Area

The vast stone forest covering ten thousand mu in Quankou Township, Dejiang County, has drawn widespread attention both within and outside the province due to its grand scale and unique formations, earning it the title of "Magical Stone Forest." The stone forest is located on both sides of Provincial Highway 303 in Jiulong Mountain, Longxing Village, Quankou Township, spreading across nine sloping faces with a total area of over 16,000 mu. The exposed humus soil of the entire stone forest ranges in height from about 1 to 12 meters, and digging away the humus soil can increase the height by an additional 2–4 meters. This stone forest not only spans several mountain ridges and slopes, standing majestically tall, but is even more striking for its magical and delicate beauty that leaves a lasting impression and sparks the imagination. Its forms appear as if meticulously carved and polished by hand—such as the Sphinx, a maiden bathing, an elephant strolling, a coiled dragon descending the mountain, a gathering of heroes, a welcoming corridor, a lotus just blooming, and a heavenly gate opening, among others. The various shapes are wildly diverse, truly a masterpiece of nature and a rare sight in the world. As the stone forest is connected to 23,000 mu of natural grassland and the soon-to-be-developed Quankou Hunting Ground, and lies adjacent to the Mayang River National Nature Reserve, it has been listed by the Tongren Regional Government as a premium western tourism route.
