To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China, the Tourism Bureau of Lienchiang County Government has launched a series of “100th Anniversary Island Promotion” events starting in March. The first event is the “White Day” activity planned for singles on March 14, which will call on single men and women to participate in a three-day, two-night “Battlefield Love Quest” matchmaking tour from March 11 to 13. This large-scale outdoor singles party will be held in Nangan Township, known for its romantic and artistic atmosphere, and will feature popular internet celebrity Shao Ting as the tour guide to lead visits to Matsu’s attractions.

The three-day, two-night White Day-themed itinerary offers content different from traditional Matsu tours. In addition to must-visit Matsu sites such as the Beihai Tunnel, Ren’ai Iron Fort, the giant Mazu statue, and “Pillars of Readiness,” the itinerary also includes paintball games, a Valentine’s party, and a BBQ matchmaking session. These activities allow participating singles to spark romance and find their true love through a series of interactive games on this once-battlefield island now at peace.

Known as the “island paradise on the sea,” the Matsu archipelago has unveiled its mysterious veil after more than 30 years of military restrictions. With its blue seas and skies, the islands appear as though they are isolated from the rest of the world. Additionally, several lighthouses designed by British architects stand on the islands—white towers and continuous low walls reminiscent of a land filled with blue and white hues, much like Greece. Attending a rare lovers’ party on this romantic island is sure to compose a perfect love story.
