Wenchang Palace Pagoda

Wenchang Palace Pagoda is located in Xiaoxi Village, Caodi Town, Dejiang County.

The pagoda was built by local villagers, consists of four levels, has a hexagonal shape, stands 8 meters tall, and covers an area of 3 square meters; it was constructed during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. The stone walls of the first level are carved with patterns such as “celestial deities holding instruments, wild deer carrying flowers, and egrets catching fish,” serving as the pagoda’s base; the second level is a stone chamber used for enshrining deities; the third level is a stone chamber, with the three characters “文昌宫” (Wenchang Palace) inscribed directly above; the fourth level features upturned eaves, with each of the six angles inlaid evenly with the Chinese character “萬” (meaning “ten thousand”).

Xiaoxi Village: Xiaoxi Village is located northeast of Caodi Town, approximately 3.5 kilometers from the town government. It has a total population of 2,860, including 2,754 agricultural residents, 6 non-agricultural residents, and 29 Party members. The village has one primary school with around 400 students and 16 teachers, including 2 special-post teachers, one office building, and 1,045 mu of arable land. The main industry is rice production. The village’s main road is about to be paved, and roads between village groups have already been hardened, achieving connectivity between all groups.
