Former Site of the Qianbei Special Committee of the Communist Party of China

The former site of the Qianbei Special Committee of the Communist Party of China is located in Huangpanding Group, Yuanzhuang Village, Pingyuan Township, Dejiang County.

In February 1947, the Eighth Route Army Chongqing Office and the Chongqing Xinhua Daily News were ordered to withdraw to Yan'an, signaling the complete breakdown of the KMT-CPC negotiations. In accordance with the Central Committee's directive to "establish guerrilla bases" in the Kuomintang-controlled areas, the CPC Eastern Sichuan Special Committee decided that Zhang Li would be responsible for operations in Guizhou within the Qianbei region. In June 1948, the "Qianbei Special Committee of the Communist Party of China" was established, assigning party members to mobilize local resistance against conscription and grain levies in counties such as Sinan, Dejiang, Meitan, Fenggang, and Yinjiang, while organizing underground armed forces to carry out the struggle.

The headquarters of the Qianbei Special Committee was located in an academy near Pingyuan Township in Dejiang, a brick-and-wood structure featuring three study rooms.
