Fengdeng Village is not far from the highway, but it becomes very quiet once you pass through a mountain pass; Zaidang is most famous for Dong ethnic group’s grand songs. These two villages are relatively small. Zaidang has beautiful and ancient drum towers and flower bridges. Although Fengdeng has neither a drum tower nor a flower bridge, its secluded forest wells and wooden houses also resemble a little paradise.

Take a bus or farm vehicle heading to Liping or Zaima from the county town or the roadside of Chejiang Dong Village to Fengdeng’ao. The fare is 5 yuan. After getting off, walk for 20 minutes to Fengdeng. From Fengdeng, it takes about 50 minutes to walk along the road to Zaidang. Alternatively, you can take a chartered car from the county town or Zaizhai to Zaidang, with prices ranging between 50 yuan and 30 yuan (weather permitting).

Transportation

Take a minivan in Rongjiang for 4–5 yuan per person, get off at Fengdeng Primary School, and walk in. There are many children in Fengdeng Village who may charge 5–10 yuan to guide you to Zaidang.
