Kaili Xianglu Mountain

Xianglu Mountain is located 15 kilometers northwest of Kaili City in Guizhou Province. Surrounded by sheer stone cliffs on all sides, it resembles an incense burner, hence its name. A single winding path leads up the mountain, which spans an area of about 15 square kilometers, encircled by numerous peaks that rise like swords piercing the sky. The mountain is covered with wildflowers, dense bamboo groves, and often shrouded in mist.

Xianglu Mountain gets its name from its resemblance to an incense burner. Located 15 kilometers northwest of Kaili City, it is the site of the “Hill-Climbing Festival” celebrated by both the Miao and Han peoples during the sixth lunar month. During the festival, various activities such as playing the lusheng (a reed-pipe wind instrument), singing duets, and bullfighting are often held on the hillsides around Xianglu Town.

Transportation: Take a minibus from downtown Kaili, with a fare of about 5 yuan.
