Compared to neighboring countries like the UK, Scotland, and Iceland, Ireland may seem relatively unfamiliar. However, for photographer Max Malloy, since arriving in Ireland 13 years ago, he has fallen in love with its landscapes. A few years ago, he became a landscape photographer and enjoys traveling and exploring across Ireland. His works highlight the beauty of the sea, the majesty of cliffs, and the wonder of starry skies.

Malloy also enjoys venturing into remote and unnamed places to discover lesser-known attractions. Examples include small farmhouses in Kenmare and solitary trees in the snow. Not many know this, but although Ireland has a temperate maritime climate, the weather is mild, and winter temperatures rarely fall below -5°C. Therefore, to capture thick snowy scenes, one must head to the colder northern parts.

Ireland’s highest point, Carrauntoohil Mountain, located in County Kerry in the southwest, stands only 1,038 meters above sea level. However, due to the island’s relatively flat terrain, vast plains, and numerous lakes, the contrast makes it easy to take majestic photos. In addition, Ireland’s west coast is famous for its many cliffs, among which the Cliffs of Moher are among the tallest in all of Europe, stretching 8 kilometers. They have been the filming location for many movies and have inspired much of Malloy’s creative work.
