Jiudao is located 20 kilometers from the city center in the southeastern part of Kaili. The village is nestled against the mountains and near the water, surrounded by towering ancient trees and boasting beautiful scenery, as well as simple, moving, and rich ethnic charm. Major attractions include the Century Granary, Immortal Cave, Burial Altar Mountain, Cattle and Horse Hoof Prints, Drum Storage Field, and Fengshui Tree. Major festivals include the March Climbing Festival, July New Rice Festival, and October Miao New Year Festival. In 2004, Jiudao Village was listed by Guizhou Province as one of the villages in the Balah River Rural Tourism Area. There are several highlights worth visiting here: walking the century-old path to experience the diligence of the locals, viewing the century-old granary to admire the wisdom of the people, listening to century-old folk songs and observing ethnic culture, gazing at the century-old trees to reflect on the changes of time, and enjoying the clear flowing waters of the Balah River.

When visiting Jiudao Miao Village, you can try local Miao dishes such as Miao King Fish (green pepper-flavored vegetarian fish), sour soup fish, chicken in eight pieces, salted fish, salted meat, and Balah-flavored dishes.

Transportation

Take a train from Guiyang to Kaili, then take a bus from Kaili Bus Station to Leishan and get off at Jiudao. The journey takes about 40 minutes.
