Shilongzhai Xijia is situated in the northwest of Kaili City, approximately 20 kilometers from the city center. It earns the name “Shilongzhai” (Stone Dragon Village) due to its ten lifelike rock formations such as the Buffalo Stone, Sisters Stone, and General Stone, collectively known as the “Ten Dragons Returning to Their Positions.” The village is inhabited by the mysterious and ancient Xijia people, who make up 56 households with a total of 258 residents. Dominated by the main peak of Water Buffalo Slope, Shilongzhai offers a panoramic view of Kaili to the east, faces off against Xianglu Mountain to the south, overlooks Pingchu’s Screw Rock to the west, and gazes upon Wan Shui’s Big Slope to the north. Surrounded by mountains and dense ancient forests, the area features renowned scenic spots among its “Ten Wonders of Stone,” including the “singing” Ox Horn Stone. There are also over ten nationally protected rare tree species—living fossils such as century-old ginkgo trees… The natural scenery is stunning, with lush greenery and a beautiful environment. The Xijia people of Shilongzhai are simple, kind, and hospitable. The Xijia culture is rich and traditional, with well-preserved, authentic songs, dances, customs, and festivals that have been passed down through generations.

This is a mysterious and enchanting “pure land,” a serene haven where you can return to nature and soothe your weary soul; it is a living “Xijia encyclopedia” that you could read a thousand times without ever tiring of.
