Dagui Park

Dagui Park is a cultural tourism attraction.

The grand pavilion in Dagui Park, built atop Longshan Mountain, was originally called Kuixing Pavilion and also known as Wenchang Pavilion. Constructed in the fourth year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty, it served as the site for selecting candidates for the imperial examination in the Kaili region during the Qing era. It is also the highest point in Kaili and offers the best panoramic views of the city.

The grand pavilion was first built in the fourth year of the Qianlong reign (1739) and once served as an academy and examination hall, playing a role in cultivating and selecting talent. In 1982, the Kaili Municipal People’s Government allocated special funds for its restoration. The restored Kuixing Pavilion covers an area of 80 square meters, has five stories, and stands 23 meters tall. It features six inner and outer pillars in a hexagonal layout, with each level adorned with upturned eaves and ridges. The structure is intricately carved with patterns of flowers, birds, and animals, showcasing refined elegance and beauty. The second, third, and fourth levels are surrounded by corridors, allowing visitors to spiral upward along the railings. Its overall design is quaint and dignified, solemn and imposing, presenting a truly magnificent sight.
