Steel Truss Bridge. The Steel Truss Bridge was built in 1942 during the War of Resistance Against Japan to alleviate the heavy transportation load on the Hunan-Guizhou Highway caused by wartime demands. This bridge was designed by China's renowned bridge expert Mao Yisheng, with steel imported from France and transported via Vietnam. The bridge is 56.4 meters long, 12.8 meters wide, and has a load capacity of 20 tons. It was blown up by retreating troops in 1949 on the eve of liberation, and was restored by the government in 1950.
