Jia Zhen Park

Jia Zhen Park was first built during the late Tianshun to early Chenghua years of the Ming Dynasty (1464–1465). At that time, Fahui, a low-ranking monastic official (僧会) from the renowned Mingjiao Temple in western Sichuan, dug a pond named Jingang Pool. The pool was divided into two halves, connected by two culverts, with pavilions and terraces in between. The pond was covered with lotus flowers and leaves, while green willows drooped along its banks, providing a resting place for worshippers and visitors. In the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), Yang Xiuchun, a garrison brigade commander, designated this garden as a public park for Jintang County, separating it from Mingjiao Temple and naming it Jingang Park. In the 27th year of the Republic of China, it was renamed Jia Zhen Park after the construction of a memorial shrine dedicated to General Peng.
