Era: Shang and Han Dynasties

Location: Northwest of Yicheng County

Includes a vast ancient site spanning between Nanshoucheng, Beishoucheng, Dongshoucheng, Weigou, Laojungou, Houweigou, Yingli, Caojiapo, and Fengjiapo, represented by the Weigou – Beishoucheng Jin Culture city site. The terrain of the site can be broadly divided into northern and southern parts. The northern part refers to the area between Houweigou Village and Weigou Village, including Fengjiapo Village, located southeast of Mianshan (Fufu Mountain), on a slope descending from northwest to southeast with an elevation difference of 50 meters. The main remains are of the Longshan and Dongxiafeng cultural types. The central and northern slope areas of Fengjiapo Village are burial grounds, with traces of earthen pit vertical shaft tombs visible everywhere—in villagers’ courtyards, cave dwellings, and along gully cliffs. The southern part refers to the area south of Weigou Village and east of Laojungou Village, including Nanshoucheng, and is contiguous with Yicheng County town. It features Jin Culture remains with abundant relics, where remains from the Warring States to Han periods are relatively concentrated in the eastern half. The site stretches approximately 2,900 meters from east to west and about 3,000 meters from north to south, covering a total area of nearly nine million square meters.

In 2019, the Weigou – Beishoucheng Site was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
