Address: Gucheng Village, Nancheng Town, Yicheng County

The southern part of the ruins extends across Gucheng Reservoir to the southern bank, the northern edge reaches the southern gully of Nanmiao Village, the eastern side stretches into the upper and lower Jianxia Gorges, and the western side borders Beichang Village. It spans 2,100 meters from north to south and 1,900 meters from east to west, covering a total area of approximately 4 square kilometers. The site features abundant remains from the Neolithic Age, especially from the middle and late Longshan Culture. Yangshao Culture relics are mainly represented by pointed-lip sand-tempered jars, while the most common artifacts from the Longshan Culture are li tripods, ding tripods, basins, shouldered jars, and dou stems. Zhou Dynasty cultural remains dominate the site’s stratigraphy, distributed most extensively with the richest artifacts and remains, and spanning the longest period—from the early Western Zhou to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. The ancient city site is located at the center of the ruins, with remnants of its four walls still visible.

In 2019, the Nancheng Ancient City Ruins were included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
