Introduction: The Dragon Residence Temple Cliff Carvings are located in Baihezui Village, Dongchan Town, Sichuan Province. They were first built in the second year of the Guanghua era of the Tang Dynasty (899 AD), and feature a combination of Buddhist and Taoist carvings. The carvings are distributed across two large natural rock formations. One of the rocks is situated within the courtyard of the Dragon Residence Temple. It measures 7.5 meters in length, 3.6 meters in width, and 2.7 meters in height. The eastern, southern, and western sides of this rock feature carvings, while the northern side does not. The other rock is located approximately 500 meters southeast of the temple, behind Youfang Courtyard at Dayu Village on Zhaizipo Slope. This rock is 5.42 meters long and 2.6 meters wide. In total, there are 21 niches containing over 1,200 carvings spread across the two sites. Among these, Niche No. 1 features the Three Worlds Buddhas arranged horizontally, with Shakyamuni Buddha in the center wearing a U-shaped collar robe. The flanking Buddhas wear double-collared robes draped over the shoulders, adorned with necklaces of jewels, and are seated on lotus thrones. In front of the niche, on a raised platform, there is a scene depicting singing and dancing in the Pure Land. There are pavilions on either side, with people riding fine horses below, and a sacred bird standing atop each pavilion roof.
