The Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - Muzha Pingxi Line launches for NT$199 to explore 4 historic streets

As Lunar New Year approaches, New Taipei City Government has launched the "Taiwan Tourist Shuttle - Muzha Pingxi Line" starting today, based on the existing Taipei Bus 795 route. The service departs from Muzha MRT Station, with an 80-minute bus route connecting historic streets such as Shencheng Old Street, Shuangxi Intersection (Shiding), Girl Temple (Five-Way Wealth God Temple), Jingting Old Street, Pingxi Old Street, Shiding Old Street, and the Shiding Visitor Center. It also offers a NT$199 one-day pass and a NT$520 two-person pass, allowing unlimited rides on the shuttle within a day. Additionally, the "Four Themed Tours—New Taipei La La Snake, Lucky Draw for Lunar New Year" event is planned. Visitors can take photos with designated attractions, upload them to the event webpage, and join the lucky draw.

The New Taipei Taiwan Tourist Shuttle—Muzha Pingxi Line runs approximately once an hour on weekdays and adds 24 extra trips on holidays, about every half hour. The full route uses a three-section ticket system, with each section costing NT$15. To promote the newly launched Muzha Pingxi Line, limited discounted packages are available: 2,000 NT$199 one-day passes and 1,000 NT$520 two-person passes. These allow unlimited rides on the shuttle within a day and include NT$100 shopping vouchers for designated shops in the Shencheng and Pingxi commercial areas. It also includes over 120 shops in the Shiding Old Street commercial area offering discounts.

At the same time, to match the spring travel theme, the "New Taipei La La Snake, Lucky Draw for Lunar New Year" online lucky draw event is launched. From February 7 to February 24 during the Lunar New Year period, visitors to any New Taipei City tourist attraction or designated spot can take creative photos incorporating snake-related elements such as snake hand gestures, poses, or clothing patterns, along with the attraction. Upload the photos to the "New Taipei Travelers FB" event webpage to join the lucky draw. Prizes include one HTC Butterfly, one iPad mini, one Panasonic LUMIX digital camera, and 50 NT$500 convenience store gift vouchers.

In addition, during the nine-day Spring Festival holiday, New Taipei City Government’s Tourism Bureau has planned four themed Lunar New Year travel routes. In addition to using the newly launched Muzha Pingxi Line of the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle, New Taipei City also offers the Golden Fulong Line and Crown North Coast Line for sightseeing. It also recommends "Iron Horse Journey" for slow cycling tours, "Happy Handcraft" tours to visit tourist factories, learn about traditional industries, and try DIY activities, or "Happy Farm" tours to enjoy the natural and simple pleasures of leisure farms.
