The former residence of Xia Shaochu and the martyr's cemetery are located in Group 3, Chayandong Village, B'er Town, Linshui County, dating back to 1949.

On March 21, 2019, the former residence of Xia Shaochu and the martyr's cemetery were designated as part of the fourth batch of municipal-level cultural relics protection units in Guang'an City.

Protective area of the former residence: limited to the perimeter of the building, extending 10 meters outward on all sides.

Construction control zone of the former residence: extends an additional 20 meters beyond the protective area.

Protective area of the martyr's cemetery: limited to the mound of the tomb, extending 10 meters outward on all sides.

Xia Shaochu, born in 1917, was from Linshui, Sichuan, and came from a well-off family. At the age of 13, he attended a private school, later studying at Fengle Primary School, where he was elected as the chairman of the student self-governance association. After his family suffered a robbery by bandits, he was injured and became deaf, so he returned home to work in agriculture. In 1938, he joined the "Youth Reading Society," organized by progressive young intellectuals, where he read progressive publications such as Xinhua Daily, Middle School Students Magazine, Popular Philosophy, and The Communist Manifesto.
