Xiangyu Village, originally named Xianggu Village, was the hometown of the Sun brothers — Sun Ju-xiang, who served as Minister of Revenue during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty, and Sun Ding-xiang, who was Vice Censor-in-Chief of the Censorate. Since Sun Dingxiang was the third among the brothers, his residence was called “Sāndū Táng” (Hall of the Third Ministry), also known as “Sāndū Gǔchéng” (Ancient City of the Third Ministry). The construction date is unknown, but it was completed in the seventh year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1634).

The fortress stretches 280 meters from east to west and 100–150 meters from north to south, covering an area of approximately 32,500 square meters. It is a well-preserved castle-style complex. Built against the mountain, the ancient town is divided into an inner and an outer city. The main buildings inside are organized by two east-west streets and nine north-south lanes. Key surviving structures include Sāndū Táng, the Marshal’s Mansion, Ten Large Residences, various male residences (both large and small), as well as public facilities such as temples, ancestral halls, and private schools. Other sites include the tomb of Sun Ju-xiang.

Xiangyu Village: Located in the easternmost part of Qinshui County, Xiangyu Village in Zhengcun Town lies at the junction of Zezhou, Yangcheng, and Qinshui counties. It administers two natural villages: Xiangyu Village and Dongshan Village, covering an area of 7.6 square kilometers. By 2012, the village had over 420 households, more than 1,400 residents, 57 Party members, over 1,380 mu of arable land, and over 4,000 mu of forest land. By the end of 2012, the village achieved an economic income of 25.44 million yuan, with an average per capita annual income of 13,811 yuan.
