Exhibition Hall of the History of China's Democratic Parties

The Exhibition Hall of the History of China's Democratic Parties is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Exhibition Hall of the History of China's Democratic Parties is located at No. 1, Jialingqiao East Village, Yuzhong District, Chongqing (northwest of Shangqing Temple Roundabout), adjacent to the Te Garden Exhibition Hall to the west. The site was originally Te Garden, one of the important venues where the Chinese Communist Party and various democratic parties carried out activities during and around the War of Resistance against Japan. It stands as a historical witness to the implementation of the Party’s policy of the anti-Japanese national united front in Chongqing by the Southern Bureau, and is also the birthplace of the China Democratic League.

China’s system of multi-party cooperation includes the Chinese Communist Party and eight democratic parties. These eight democratic parties are: the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, the China Democratic League, the China Democratic National Construction Association, the China Association for Promoting Democracy, the Chinese Peasants’ and Workers’ Democratic Party, the China Zhi Gong Party, the Jiusan Society, and the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League. Over 70 years later, the history of New China has turned to a new page of achieving moderate prosperity in all respects and building a harmonious society. However, the legacy of unity, cooperation, and sincere partnership between the Chinese Communist Party and the democratic parties, as well as non-partisan individuals, still holds tremendous spiritual strength and contemporary value. To fully explore and utilize this “spiritual treasure trove,” in March 2004, the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee decided to establish the first “Traditional Education Base of China’s United Front” in Chongqing. Construction began on May 22, 2006, and was completed on June 20, 2007. On April 6, 2007, the official name of the museum was approved, and it officially opened to the public on May 12, 2008.
