It is the only one of its kind in China, located in the beautiful mountain city of Chongqing. The gallery’s “Inspirationist” painter, Niu Yanming, also known as Mogan and nicknamed “The Madman of Futian,” was born in 1960 in Beijing. He serves as a council member of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Association, a member of the Qi Baishi Art Research Association, a member of the Beijing Calligraphy and Painting Association, and a member of the Haidian District Fine Arts Association. Since childhood, he has had a wide range of interests, with a strong passion for martial arts, music, fine arts, philosophy, history, and classical literature. He studied traditional Chinese painting under the master of freehand brushwork, Cui Zifan, and achieved a high level of artistic refinement. In 1989, he went to Japan to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Graduate School of Art Research at Tama Art University, where he held multiple solo exhibitions. Ten years later, he returned to Beijing.

He created the “Inspirationist” painting style, which varies with the mood of each piece yet achieves unique beauty in every variation. It is a natural expression of emotion—subtle yet profound, expressive yet not vulgar. His art follows a path rooted in emotion and triumphs through artistic charm. With a completely unrestrained mindset, he freely reshapes the world, allowing his emotions to flow naturally as he wishes. He rejects formulas and constraints, using his brush to seek his own dreams. His artistic journey follows no set pattern, moving from naturalism to expressionism, from classicism to romanticism, and then back to realism. From figurative to abstract, back and forth—he opposes all forms of bondage and all sacred notions in the universe. Only absolute freedom and genuine emotion suit him. What he remains forever loyal to is—freedom. He has become a notable new talent in the art world and is the founder of the “Inspirationist” painting style.

In 2008, he was interviewed multiple times by China Central Television (CCTV), and was prominently featured on CCTV-3. China Culture Daily published a special report on him, including a feature commentary titled “On the Commercial Value of Modern Calligraphy and Painting Art.” He was invited to hold the Chinese Surrealism Calligraphy and Painting Masters Invitation Exhibition—Niu Yanming Painting Exhibition—at Beijing’s 798 Art Zone, stunning his peers and earning widespread recognition from the art community.
