The Former Site of the Nationalist Government's Executive Yuan is a Baroque-style building with a brick-and-wood structure. It faces south and has two stories above one ground floor. The building is 23.3 meters wide and 24.7 meters deep, with a height of 19.4 meters, and contains a total of 19 rooms. It was originally a German Catholic church in Chongqing and now serves as the office building of the Chongqing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China. Yiyuan is a Gothic-style brick-and-stone castle, with its exterior entirely built of stone. It features a semi-circular terrace on the second floor and a small balcony on the third floor, both overlooking Niujiatuo Street on Sixin Road. The building has a basement level, along with one ground floor and one upper floor, totaling three levels and 16 rooms. It once served as the residence of Soong Tse-ven. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War and during the period of national peace negotiations, U.S. President Truman’s special envoy, General George C. Marshall, resided here while mediating the ceasefire. Kang Xinyuan’s Residence was built by Kang Xinyuan, with a construction area of 573 square meters. It is a single-eave hip-roof structure made of brick and concrete, with three floors. The second-floor outer corridor is a covered walkway. The roof imitates traditional Chinese architectural forms, with upturned eaves, resembling a style of traditional revival architecture. During the war against Japan, He Yaosu and Shao Zili temporarily stayed here. In February 1950, Deng Xiaoping moved in. This site complex witnessed the significant historical event of the Second United Front between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and is directly linked to numerous important historical figures. It had a major impact on China and the world. As the physical setting for these pivotal events and figures during these important historical periods, it holds significant historical value.

In May 2013, the Former Site of the Nationalist Government's Executive Yuan was designated as part of the Seventh Batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
