Former Site of the Roosevelt Library

The Former Site of the Roosevelt Library is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Located at No. 11 Changjiang 1st Road, Lianglukou, the Former Site of the Roosevelt Library (also known as the Central Library during the War of Resistance Against Japan) sits adjacent to the Chongqing Children’s Library. It is a three-story historic building consisting of 40 rooms in total. Built along the hillside, the structure features gray bricks and dark tiles, exuding a simple and unadorned charm. Surrounded by lush green trees, the area offers a tranquil and solemn atmosphere. The Roosevelt Library is the first and only library in Chinese history named after a foreign president. It was also designated as a depository library for United Nations materials, making it the earliest Chinese library to preserve UN documents.

On October 7, 2019, the Former Site of the Roosevelt Library was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.
