The Former Soviet Embassy in Chongqing is located at its original site, No. 104, Pipayan Main Street, Yuzhong District, dating back to the years 1938–1946.

On Pipayan Main Street in Yuzhong District, now within the Third People’s Hospital, there is a small Western-style building covered in ivy. The building boasts beautiful plaster door and window lintels, and window glass in a striking combination of blue, green, yellow, and silver, giving off an exotic vibe.

This building is a rare relic of wartime Chongqing — the former Soviet Embassy. This four-story, asymmetrical European-style villa inspired by Baroque architecture witnessed the deep friendship between China and the former Soviet Union during the War of Resistance against Japan.

In 2000, the Former Soviet Embassy in Chongqing was listed as part of the first group of cultural relic protection units by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government.
