Yang Tenghui’s Former Residence is located in Dafeng Town, Shanglin County. It dates back to 1933 and is categorized as an important modern historical site and representative architecture.

In 1999, Yang Tenghui’s Former Residence was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Shanglin County.

Yang Tenghui (1890–1939), originally named Renhe and also known by the courtesy name Xingfan, was from Yunlong Village, Chengtai Township. He was of the Zhuang ethnic group.

In 1917, he served as an adjutant under Li Yan (a native of Shanglin), who was the commander of a detachment of the Second Army of the Guangxi Protection Army. In 1919, Lin Junting sponsored Yang Tenghui to receive training at the Guangxi Army Infantry School. After graduation, he served as the commander of the personal guard battalion under Lin. In 1921, Sun Yat-sen directed the Guangdong Army to enter Guangxi to campaign against Lu Rongting. After Lu's downfall, Lin Junting led the remaining forces to take refuge near the Guizhou border, and Yang closely followed Lin Junting, gaining increasing trust and being promoted to regimental commander.
