Seaside Promenade Park

The Seaside Promenade is a great spot to enjoy the ocean view and relax. Across the sea lies the Que Stone Scenic Area, where the stillness of the mountains contrasts with the movement of the water, and the scenery is delightful with boats sailing and birds flying. On the other side of the road are buildings such as People’s Square, the Stadium, the Guesthouse, the Municipal Government, and the Science and Technology Building. In People’s Square, there are two large sculptures depicting a group of children joyfully carrying a large seashell toward the seaside, with clear water flowing from the shell.

At the eastern end of the Seaside Promenade lies the Shipo Fort ruins. Built in 1874, the fort covers a total area of nearly 2,000 square meters. It could house over a thousand soldiers, though the cannons are no longer there.

Transportation: You can walk eastward along the coast from Shantou Port Passenger Terminal; alternatively, you can take bus routes 9 or 19 to get there.
