Gounan Xudi boasts enchanting natural scenery and a wealth of cultural heritage. The Xu family produced many notable figures in modern history, such as the anti-British hero Xu Xiangguang, the revolutionary leader of the 1911 Revolution Xu Chongzhi, the renowned scholar-official Xu Mengbang, the revolutionary pioneer Xu Zhuo, the peasant leader Xu Huairen, the wife of Lu Xun, Xu Guangping, the distinguished educator and former president of Sun Yat-sen University, Xu Chongqing, and many others.

Gounan Village is home to magnificent ancestral halls, classic traditional residences, and exquisitely crafted ceramic inlay work, all treasures of Chaoshan traditional architectural culture. The village's farmhouse banquets are famous far and wide, featuring must-try delicacies such as Shitou geese, blackfish, and pollution-free vegetables.

The Gounan Xudi Folk Eco-Tourism Area includes a range of attractions such as the main gate, shopping area, exhibition and visitation zone, rural ecological area, folk activity area, and educational experience area.
