Golden Phoenix Plaza

Golden Phoenix Plaza was originally a red-brick building in the old city district. It was transformed into a plaza to accommodate road expansion. At its center stands a large sculpture themed around the golden phoenix flower, the city flower of Shantou. The sculpture consists of an artistically exaggerated and stylized golden phoenix petal and stamen forming a fountain. By day, it sparkles like pearls and jade; by night, it dazzles with colorful lights. It was once honored as one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Shantou. …
