Wengong Academy

Wengong Academy is located on the upper rock of Longquan Rock on the eastern foothills of Mount Sangpu in Pengnan Neighborhood Committee, Tuojiang Subdistrict, Jinping District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It sits at the closest point to the sea along the Mount Sangpu range, a branch of the Five Ridges. Built during the Ming Dynasty, the academy faces south with a construction area of 29.44 square meters and covers a site area of 27.7 square meters. It has a total width of 3.2 meters and a depth of 9.2 meters. Originally a natural stone chamber, it was where Weng Wanda, a Ming Dynasty Minister of War, studied in his youth. The site holds significant value for the study of ancient mountain architecture.
