The Shantou Science and Technology Museum serves as a base for science popularization and education.

Main functions:

1. Science and Technology Exhibition Center. Capable of hosting exhibitions, sales events, and conferences or academic activities showcasing new technologies and products from both domestic and international sources.

2. Base for Science and Technology Talent Exchange. Can serve as a training base for high- and mid-level professional and technical personnel.

3. Public Science Popularization Activity Center.

Operational institutions and service centers for the Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Science Association, scientific and technological information exchange, science and technology information networks, patent affairs management, science and technology libraries, scientific literature, scientific archives, retrieval and reading services, and computer centers.
