Qianwu Reservoir is situated 8 kilometers west of the Doumen District government seat and spans the towns of Qianwu and Doumen. With a water surface stretching 9 kilometers and a water storage capacity of 16.98 million cubic meters, the reservoir is flanked by mountains on the east and west, where dense greenery, swaying bamboo, and a serene, peaceful ambiance create a tranquil setting. The northern and southern areas consist of vast flatlands covered with continuous orchards, exuding the sweet scent of fruits. Activities here include walking through the forest, boating on the water, climbing to enjoy distant views, camping and barbecuing, fishing by the reservoir, and swimming in the water. In the center of the reservoir lies a small island, like a radiant pearl embedded in a clear mirror, shining brilliantly. Thanks to development efforts, the area enjoys a mild climate year-round—warm in winter and cool in summer—and boasts a quiet, pristine environment, making it an idyllic retreat for rest and relaxation. It now features a national-level swimming pool (open to visitors), frequently used for winter training by the national swimming team, and is sure to become a favorite destination for travelers.
