Introduction Located on the north side of Wenchang Temple West Road, West Street, Chengde City, it was built in the 37th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty. The front part consists of the mountain gate hall, with flagpoles and stone lions on either side of the entrance. Inside the gate, there is a bell tower and a drum tower on each side. The main hall is hung with an imperial plaque inscribed by Emperor Qianlong, reading “Blessing Over Rock Frontier.” The temple houses an inscribed stone tablet with Emperor Qianlong’s poem “Eight Rhymes on the Inaugural Incense Offering and Worship Ceremony at the Newly Built Temple of the City God in Rehe,” which details the construction history of the temple…
