First, we went to the base of the Chengde Mountaineering Association, which is right next to the train station—super convenient transportation. See the photo above? The area where people are standing is the base, and the tall buildings below are the train station. There are five trains from Beijing to Chengde, so it's quite convenient to get there for a visit. If you take the highway, just exit at Chengde East and make a quick turn to get here. Why isn't there such great terrain around Beijing...

The anchors set up at the base are rock-solid—20mm rebar treated with bonding agent and drilled in 20cm deep, extremely sturdy. Several people can use one anchor simultaneously without any issues. And there are over 50 such anchors at this base, with cliff faces ranging from 10 to 77 meters in multiple locations, capable of accommodating nearly a hundred people for training at the same time......

Cliff faces like these are everywhere. Transportation is convenient, accommodation is easy, and both rappelling and camping are comfortable. Nearby, there are also several well-established hiking and trekking routes, varying in intensity, suitable for families, schools, and outdoor enthusiasts at all levels.

A single-rope technique base that isn’t very high—great for photography and descending, definitely worth another visit.
