Xiashan Park

Xiashan Park is located at the southern foot of Xiashan in the southwestern part of Jing’an Town. The park is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with a small pond in the middle. Covering a total area of approximately 160 mu, the park has about 25 mu of land area and around 135 mu of water surface, along with a 1.4-kilometer concrete path encircling the lake. The park is rich in flowers and fruit trees, making it a great leisure and entertainment destination for Doumen residents.

Xiashan Park features both mountains and water, with lush greenery. Especially after its renovation by the government in 2002, speakers were installed along the concrete path encircling the lake, and cement benches were placed under the shade of trees for couples to enjoy private moments. A three-arch cement stone bridge was also constructed in the middle of the lake, separating the northern and southern parts of the lake while connecting the eastern and western shores. On the eastern side of the bridge is a main entrance square, where bold black characters reading “Xiashan Park” are engraved on the right side of the square’s main gate. To the left of the arched bridge is a Western-style teahouse, in front of which lies a European-style white canopy. In front of the canopy is a waterside viewing stand, and to the left front of the stand stands a hexagonal pavilion in the middle of the lake.

Walking forward along the three-arch bridge, you’ll find a four-cornered pavilion halfway up the hill directly ahead, which serves as a resting spot for visitors hiking up the mountain. To the right of the three-arch bridge is a teahouse designed to resemble a sailing ship. The park also features an Eight-Pavilion complex, which houses an entertainment room and a folk art and opera society.
